Both Modern/retro aspects, welcoming, & low crime.

Alot of my family lives here and I've visited quite a few times. It's a quiet, small, but also a very welcoming and calm community. It has alot of farmland, alot of aspects you would expect out in the country, but not only does this town have good country aspects, it's also not far from some of the bigger cities such as Sioux City to the east, L Lincoln & Omaha down south, & Sioux Falls, SD, up north.
Many of the homes are standard, some are new, a few are old. A nice mix of modern, retro, & old structures & buildings. Crime, from what relatives who have lived there all their life tell me, Is very low and rare. Property crimes are practically non-existent, & there isn't reason for people to steal, considering the low income/sales tax, & gas prices.
Great place to go when you're tired of the big city, whilst maintaining many modern amenities not as common in small areas like these, that usually the big cities only have.
